Trojan Talk

Trojan Talk.

I think it is about time for me to enter my side of the college football story. So far all I've heard is that the Pac-10 Rules and Oregon is the Jesus Christ of the Pac-10 sent from heaven to free the Pac-10 and give them the respect they deserve. Oh, and yea how the BCS sucks a big fat one. Although i dont completely disagree with that statement, I very much disagree with how awesome Oregon and the Pac-10 is.

Ok, first things first, I do not deny that the Pac-10 is a good conference and is on the way up. HOWEVER, I dont believe that they can be compared with the Big XII, Big X, and the SEC. OK the Pac-10 is 14-3, not half bad BUT look who they have played. Baylor, New Mexico State, Eastern Kentucky, Temple, Nevada, Idaho, Mississippi State, Fresno State, Auburn, Northern Arizona, Eastern Washington, Central Florida, San Jose State, Michigan (a loss), Boston College (a loss), and Colorado State (the only quality win). Now I'm sorry but the great Jenks High School could break .500 against those schools. Oh and the great savior himself almost fell to Fresno State who was playing with a first year quarterback that also severly lacks leadership, does anybody even know what conference Fresno State is in??? The only reason people heard of them in the first place is because of David Carr who is a badass and showed the whole world by winning his first ever pro game against a damn good Dallas team.

Now on to the BCS....Yea it sucks a fatty and defonitely needs to be gone but heres my problem with the whole tournament idea. Everyone knows how amazing march madness, and I think college football can be the same way, but instead of having it single elimination like basketball it would need to be double elimination. This would make the good teams really stand out, because we all know anybody can beat anybody any given day. This way we can really find out who is really good.

Next is the idea that teams should carry their rank into the oncoming season. ARE U FING INSANE!!! This is college we are talking about here, u know stay for 4 or 5 years (some 6 or 7) then LEAVE to go onto bigger and better things. You cant sit here and say that Oregon or Fresno St whould be ranked the same without their badass QB's and the leadership[ they bring to the table. There is such a thing as recruitment and training which makes a difference, a HUGE difference. To say that teams are just as good one year as they are the next is naive and ludacris.

On to Trojan's comparison of the Pac-10 vs. Big XII since 1995

                                     Pac-10                                  Big XII

National Champ Won             0                                          3
2nd after all polls                  1                                         2
Bowl Bids                             27                                        44

This is where it counts ladies and gents. I dont really think the Pac-10 can be compared to the Big XII.

If this went back to the 70's the Pac-10 would look like a child looking up at his grand daddy. Gugs' numbers were tainted.

Trojan signing off for now......
